BreakBulk Europe 2008

In BreakBulk Europe Conference, GPLN Happenings on June 2, 2008 at 6:47 am

Whew! I am worn out.

Yesterday afternoon we concluded the BreakBulk Europe 2008 Conference & Exhibition and I personally think it will be a very good success for us in the months to come. I was able to speak with some very good prospects in many markets we are looking to cover: Algeria, Morocco, Senegal, Gambia, Qatar, Central America, etc. I also attended a round table discussion on breakbulk in the CIS countries. There were three presentations by rail officials in Azerbaijan, Georgia and by Jawad Kamel, the CEO of Advance International, a very well known project forwarder. Jawad spoke about a multi-million dollar project that his company completed for the United States government: Logistics for constructing the new United States Embassy in Dushanbe, Tajikistan.
I could relate very well to this because I also undertook an embassy project in 1996, the United States Embassy in Hanoi, Vietnam.

GPLN was well represented with 17 participants at our booth and I dare say that they all got something good from this. We have already booked for the BreakBulk Conference in New Orleans and there will be a new Break Bulk Conference in Singapore next year so we will be on for that as well. I am off to Turkey next week to check out the hotels for our next GPLN global meeting. I look forward to it!
